If you follow us on Twitter or Instagram you may have seen a few photos from this Saturday’s zine printing workshop at The Bluecoat. We had fun designing and printing our zines and even topped up our knowledge of screen printing with some handy tips from the talented Alex Smith.
For anyone interested in learning to screen print we highly recommend the courses The Bluecoat offers, whether you’re a complete newbie or want to dust off the cobwebs from the things you learned at college. Learning on your own is great but we’re all for getting together and sharing knowledge, seeing other people print and discovering new methods to improve and diversify your own work.
Sometimes experimenting is scary, worrying about the outcome of our hard work and not knowing if you’ll like it, but the zine workshop was a really fun, relaxed way to play with methods we’ve not used before. It also sparked new ideas and we were really pleased with the publications we had in our hands by the end of the day.
Thanks again to The Bluecoat and Alex Smith for an excellent day!
